Within the vision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Directorate General of Cultural Heritage and Museums, a panel was organized in Gümüşhane as part of the nationwide events held under the title “Museum Conversations.” The event, in which one of our faculty members, Dr. Emine Şimşek Evren, took part as a panelist, was held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 15:00, in the Conference Hall of the Gümüşhane Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism (Cultural Center).

Moderated by Archaeologist Elif Öktem, the panel featured a presentation by Dr. Emine Şimşek Evren, who provided insights into the historical development and significance of museology in both the world and our country. Afterwards, Lecturer Dr. Şule Sinem Surdem delivered a presentation titled “The Refunctioning of Traditional Housing as a Museum: The Case of Gümüşhane Museum,” followed by Archaeologist Ayşe Bozkurt, who informed the audience with her presentation titled “The Archaeological Potential of Gümüşhane.”

The event concluded with Moderator Elif Öktem extending her thanks to the panelists and participants.
