The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Gümüşhane University's Faculty of Tourism organized a prize-winning knowledge contest titled “The Ethics of Flavor” to raise awareness of professional ethics.
The “Ethics of Taste” knowledge contest was held as an important social responsibility event aimed at increasing professional ethical awareness in the field of gastronomy and developing students' ethical perspective.
During the event, participants' knowledge level was measured through questions prepared on ethical decision-making processes in the field of gastronomy, professional responsibilities, and real kitchen scenarios. The competition, consisting of simulation-based and multifaceted questions, drew attention with its structure that questioned the practical application of ethical concepts.
Throughout the knowledge competition, participants were encouraged to think about issues such as food safety, responsibility towards consumers, professional integrity, and ethical violations. At the end of the event, prizes were presented to the top-ranked participants.
