Gümüşhane's rich culinary culture was showcased in Gaziantep as part of the “1 Kitchen 81 Cultures Project.” At the event organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports between December 23-26, 2025, Gümüşhane was successfully represented by Betül Şentürk and Hamza Şahin, students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Gümüşhane University.
At the Gümüşhane stand set up at the event, which was attended by young people from all over Turkey, local products such as pestil, köme, siron, erişte, rosehip jam, and Araköy bread were introduced and offered to participants. The students' presentations, made in traditional costumes, drew attention to Gümüşhane's gastronomy and cultural identity.
During a symbolic ceremony held as part of the event, soil brought from Gümüşhane was mixed with the roots of a planted olive tree, emphasizing cultural unity and solidarity between provinces.
The project enabled young people to learn about the traditional culinary heritage and gain awareness of cultural values.
