On March 4, 2026, the Faculty of Tourism organized an iftar dinner in celebration of the month of Ramadan. The event, which brought together the faculty’s academic and administrative staff, was attended by Gümüşhane University Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Handan Çam and Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şahin, Prof. Dr. Berat Sarıkaya, a faculty member from the Faculty of Theology; and from outside the university, Prof. Dr. Sevgi Kolaylı, a faculty member from Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ); author Dr. Senai Demirci, who was at the university to give a talk; and their families.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, academics and guests gathered around the iftar tables and had the opportunity to chat.

Following the iftar program, a celebration was held to mark the appointment of Sevim Beyza Öztürk Sarıkaya, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, to the professorial faculty in the field of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. As Sarıkaya was congratulated by faculty members, well-wishes were extended, and it was emphasized that her academic achievements are a significant source of pride for both the faculty and the university.

The program concluded with commemorative photos taken to mark the occasion.
