Gümüşhane University's Faculty of Tourism was established in 2010 as the Gümüşhane University School of Tourism and Hotel Management and was transformed into the Faculty of Tourism with the Department of Tourism Management in 2013. The Department of Tourism Guidance commenced its education in the 2018-2019 academic year, and the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts began accepting students in the 2020-2021 academic year. Educational activities in the Tourism Guidance and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Departments are currently ongoing. The Department of Tourism Management was closed by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Executive Board dated March 20, 2024.
Our faculty employs a total of 14 academic staff: 7 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer, and 3 Research Assistants. The faculty members of the Faculty of Tourism continue their academic work at national and international levels. It strives to contribute to both its students and the city in social and cultural terms through activities such as trips, theater plays, talks, concerts and panels.
