The seminar, aimed at raising awareness against the rapidly increasing digital threats of today’s world, served as a significant event designed to enhance our students’ knowledge and consciousness on cybersecurity.

During the seminar, attended by students from the Departments of Tourism Guidance and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, detailed information was provided regarding potential risks encountered in the digital sphere. Our students were informed by expert teams on various topics such as phishing techniques, personal data protection, principles of cybersecurity, digital bullying, types of online fraud, strong password creation methods, social engineering attacks, and the legal consequences of illegal betting activities.

The seminar was conducted in an interactive format in the multi-purpose hall located on the 2nd floor of the Faculty of Tourism. Throughout the presentation, participants were briefed through real-life scenarios and case examples that illustrated how digital threats emerge and what measures should be taken to combat them. During the Q&A session, students actively engaged by directing their questions to the experts.

This event, organized at our faculty, holds great importance in terms of improving digital literacy and fostering awareness about conscious and safe internet use among our students. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Cyber Crimes Division teams of the Gümüşhane Provincial Police Department for their valuable contributions, as well as to our advisor instructors who supported the seminar process and to all students who participated.
