On March 9, 2026, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Presidency of Gümüşhane University and ZİGANA KAR. TUR. İNŞ. ORG. SERV. TEM. HİZ. NAK. TİC. LTD. ŞTİ. to enable students of the Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts to complete their compulsory summer internships.

Within the scope of the protocol, an information meeting was organized for the students of the Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, and the Vocational School of Social Sciences, Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services. The meeting was attended by Pervanoğlu Facilities manager Koray Pervanlar, Cennet Bahçesi manager Şaban Berk, Aydın Restaurant manager Osman Aydın, Esenle Yemekteyiz manager Esen Berk, Turan Pervanlar, and Lecturer Engin Ahmet Muhsir, who provided information to the participants. In addition, students as well as academic and administrative staff from the Faculty of Tourism and the Vocational School of Social Sciences attended the event.

The program began with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Sevim Beyza Öztürk Sarıkaya, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism. In her speech, Öztürk Sarıkaya emphasized that such collaborations between the university and the sector not only increase the diversity of internship opportunities for students but also contribute to the development of local and regional enterprises. She also stated that students should see their internship period as the beginning of their professional careers, make the most of this opportunity, and gain sectoral experience that will significantly contribute to their future professional lives.

Following the opening speech, Lecturer Engin Ahmet Muhsir provided information about the internship protocol. Muhsir shared details regarding the internship processes and the experiences students will gain in the kitchen and service areas within the scope of the protocol. Afterwards, business owner Turan Pervanlar introduced their enterprises and provided information about their fields of activity and the internship opportunities offered to students. The event concluded after the students’ questions were answered.
